Why are you here and not somewhere else in the world?
Do you remember a special moment from the day when you first came here? What is the difference between your home country and this country? Do you feel respected by the majority of people? Have you ever thought of moving to another country? How do you pass on your own culture to your children and to your grandchildren? Can you describe a typical stereotype that people produce in relation to your culture?
Migration is a worldwide
phenomenon: people move from one country to another, from rural regions to big cities. Sometimes people don’t actually move,
but when state borders change for some reason, they suddenly find themselves belonging to a minority. Very often these movements
have an impact on the social status of people, which means that there is also a movement between the social classes. Hello
and Goodbye explored the phenomenon of transitions of social and geographic spaces in different European cities. KUNSTLABOR
Graz collected stories telling about the circumstances behind the migration of people and their individual experiences.
